Birthday girl! Katie Holmes celebrated her daughter Suri Cruise’s 9th birthday with a cupcake-filled bash in New York City on Saturday, April 18. Held at the Gilded Lily, multiple insiders tell Us Weekly that Tom Cruise’s daughter’s party was a fun, intimate affair.
Holmes arrived early at the venue on Saturday to help set up for her daughter’s big day, one insider tells Us. “Katie got an assortment of vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes decorated in pink and purple from Georgetown Cupcake SoHo," the insider tells Us of the special day. “Dozens and dozens of cupcakes were placed on cupcake towers for the celebration!”
Also in the mix for the little girl’s bash? Music! “Katie brought a DJ in for Suri,” another source tells Us, adding that Holmes, along with 20 other guests including Katie’s parents and Suri’s grandparents, danced around to Top 40 hits with Suri and her friends.
“It was a small affair, nothing overboard, but Suri had a great time,” the insider says.
And the Dawson’s Creek alum had an equally enjoyable time. “This cupcaketower is going down!!!!!!@georgetowncupcakes,” Holmes captioned a photo of herself happily devouring a cupcake on Instagram that afternoon.
